Group of cyclists with a Bike Hub Riccione guide on the Riccione seafront

Guided tours

Bike tours in Riccione, from the sea to the villages.

Ride with our guide. We know this area better than most, and we’ll show it to you at the right pace for you, from the sea to the hills of the Marecchia Valley and the Montefeltro.

  • Local guides
  • Groups of up to 12 people
  • Routes for every level

On a Bike Hub bike tour in Riccione you don’t have to study the route, look for quiet roads or work out which ride suits your pace. The guide takes care of that, riding these roads every day: they choose the ride to match the group’s pace, then adapt it to the people in front of them.

From Riccione it only takes a few kilometres to leave the seafront behind. From there the hills begin, with the scenic roads of the Montefeltro, the climb to San Marino, the villages of the Marecchia Valley and the white roads among vineyards and badlands.

Two options

With a group, or with a guide all to yourselves.

What changes is how you ride, not the quality of the ride. Either way, you ride with a guide who knows every climb in the area.

Group tour

For solo travellers and couples who want to ride with other cyclists.

How it works Pick a date from our calendar, book and join the group. The level is stated in advance, so you ride with people who go at your pace.

Where we ride

Four areas within an hour of the sea.

Every tour heads in one of these directions. The hills of the Montefeltro, the climb to San Marino, the villages of the Marecchia Valley and the badlands of Mondaino: different landscapes, all within reach of the shop.

Every tour is built on trails and climbs we’ve tested ourselves: over 150 routes mapped since 1997, across Romagna and the Marche. See our route guides

Who rides with you

Our guides

A good guide does more than know the road. They need to judge the level of the group, set the right pace, deal with the unexpected and turn a route into a safe, enjoyable experience.

Bike Hub guides know the climbs, the back roads, the viewpoints and the right places to stop. During the tour they lead the group, check that everyone is fine, give technical tips when needed and tell you about the places you ride through.

For everyone

You don’t need to be an experienced cyclist.

Before you book, we talk through your riding habits, the distances you usually cover and the kind of experience you’re after, so we can suggest a ride that matches your fitness. On private tours we also handle groups of mixed ability, adapting bikes, distance and difficulty.

You can choose from

  • Flat sightseeing rides
  • Hilly routes
  • Gravel routes
  • Sporty rides
  • E-bike tours

Guide or GPS track?

Why choose a guided tour.

A GPS track tells you where to turn, but it can’t judge the traffic, the road surface, the group’s fitness or whether to change route during the day. A local guide can.

  • Which roads to avoid at rush hour
  • Where the best views open up
  • Which climbs suit the group’s level
  • Where to stop for a break
  • How to shorten or extend the route
  • How to deal with a mechanical problem
  • How to adapt the ride to the weather and terrain

FAQ

Before you book, the questions we are asked most often.

Do I need to be an experienced cyclist?

No. We organise tours for different levels, from sightseeing rides to sporty routes. It’s important to tell us honestly about your experience, so we can recommend the most suitable route and bike.

What happens if I can’t keep up with the group?

Every group tour has a level stated before you book. The guide keeps a pace in line with that level and plans the necessary stops. Nobody is left behind, but it’s important to choose a ride that matches your fitness.

Can I join with my own bike?

Yes, as long as it’s in good condition and suitable for the planned route. Let us know when you book, telling us the model and type.

Do tours go ahead in the rain?

It depends on how heavy the rain is, the type of route and safety conditions. In bad weather the tour may be changed, postponed or cancelled. Participants are told of the decision before the start.

How many people take part in a tour?

Group tours usually have between 3 and 12 riders. On private tours the number is agreed when planning. Large groups may need more than one guide.

How much notice do you need for a private tour?

We recommend contacting us at least a few days in advance. In spring and autumn it’s best to write as early as possible, so we can check that a guide and bikes are available.

What languages do the guides speak?

Tours can be run in Italian and in other languages, depending on which guides are available. Tell us your preferred language when you get in touch, so we can confirm the right service.
