Where to ride them
Three roads worth the trip
Riccione is one of the reference points for road cycling in Italy: within a few kilometres you go from the seafront to the hills, then on to San Marino, the Montefeltro and the villages of the hinterland. Every year thousands of cyclists choose these roads to train, prepare for a gran fondo or simply enjoy a good ride.
San Marino
The signature climb of the Riviera. You leave the sea behind, head inland and climb up to the Republic on steady gradients, with the Adriatic opening up behind you. It’s the route for working on your rhythm.
- 60-80km
- 700-900m of climbing
- 740m altitude
Montefeltro
For riders who love long distances and empty roads. Constant ups and downs between historic villages and ridges, technical and rewarding: this is where a carbon bike really shows what it can do.
- 90-140km
- 1,500+m of climbing
- ∞real climbs
San Bartolo Park
Between Riccione and Pesaro runs one of the most beautiful roads on the Adriatic: rolling climbs, bends above the cliffs and the sea always right below. Medium distance, views all the way, little traffic.
- ~70km round trip
- ~800m of climbing
- 3-4hours
Distances and climbing are approximate: they depend on where you start and how far you want to go.
All routesThe service
It’s not just about the bike
When you rent a road bike in Riccione, the model is half the job. The other half is the condition we hand it over in.
-
Serviced before it leaves
Brakes, drivetrain, tyres and bolts: every bike goes through the mechanic before it’s handed over.
-
Recent carbon
Latest generation Scott frames, renewed every season: you ride a current bike, not one at the end of its career.
-
From 47 to 61
Every size available, including the ones that are usually missing: very tall and very small riders will find theirs.
-
Your pedals, fitted by us
Bring your own pedals and we’ll fit them at no extra charge, so the bike feels just like yours.
-
We help you with the size
No guesswork: we look at your height and proportions and, if needed, adjust saddle height and setback before you set off.
-
Hotel delivery
On request we bring the bike to where you’re staying, already set up: all you have to do is come downstairs and get on.
Our rental has one aim: to hand you a bike that rides as if it were your own, so you can make the most of the Romagna hinterland.
An honest choice
Is a road bike right for you?
We’d rather tell you upfront: if you have a different kind of ride in mind, we have the right bike and point you to it below.
It’s the right bike if…
- you’re on holiday and want the same feel as your own bike, without bringing it with you;
- you ride gran fondos or you’re an experienced amateur and want to train on the roads of Romagna;
- you’re coming from abroad and would rather not fly with your bike;
- you want carbon to tackle climbs, flats and descents as efficiently as possible;
- you want to experience what a road bike can do.
Another bike may suit you better if…
- you want more comfort: the gravel bike or the touring bike are more comfortable;
- you want help on the hardest climbs: then go for an e-bike, or the Addict eRIDE above;
- you’re planning dirt roads or trails: for those you need a mountain bike or a gravel bike.
FAQ
Frequently asked questions about road bike rental
If you can’t find the answer you’re looking for, write to us: we reply the same day.
Ask your questionCan I rent a road bike for just one day?
Yes, you can rent your bike for one or more days, even for a week or longer. In high season and during cycling events it’s worth booking: it’s the only way to be sure of getting the model and size you want.
How do I choose the right size?
The online booking system suggests the right size. When you collect the bike we adjust the saddle height and setback, and there’s always someone in the shop or on the phone to advise you. A bike in the wrong size makes itself felt after twenty kilometres: it’s worth spending five minutes on it.
Can I fit my own pedals?
Of course, and it costs nothing. Bring your own pedals and shoes, whether SPD, SPD-SL or Look: we fit them when you collect the bike, so you get the same position and the same feel as on your own bike.
Are the bikes checked before every rental?
Every bike goes through our mechanic before it leaves: brakes, drivetrain, tyre pressure and bolts. If something goes wrong during your ride, call us and we’ll sort it out.
Can I book before I arrive in Riccione?
Yes, and that’s what we recommend, especially from April to September. Write to us with your dates, your height and the model you’re interested in: we’ll confirm availability and size before you set off.
