The bike
Scott Sub Cross
A comfortable, stable touring bike that’s easy to ride. If you haven’t cycled for years, this is the one to get back on without a second thought.
Step-through frame
The geometry keeps you sitting upright: you can see the road, the cycle path and the people around you, and your back, shoulders and arms don’t get tired. The frame is low, so you get on and off with your foot on the ground, without swinging a leg over anything.
The aluminium frame is light but sturdy, the suspension fork soaks up bumps in the road, and the Shimano gears help where you really need them: bridges, underpasses and the gentle slopes of the Riccione seafront.
It’s the right Scott for the seafront, for the cycle path towards Misano Adriatico and Cattolica, or for an unhurried ride to Rimini.

The right choice
When the goal isn’t training
The city bike is for people who want to enjoy their day. It’s intuitive to ride and doesn’t need the getting used to that sports bikes do: just get on and go.
Compared with other bikes
- More comfortable than a road bikeyou sit upright instead of bent over the handlebar, and after an hour you notice the difference;
- Faster rolling than a mountain bikeon tarmac and cycle paths you don’t have to push against knobbly tyres;
- No motor, and that’s finethe coast is completely flat: you don’t need electric assistance here, and a simple bike needs no instructions.
What it lets you do
- Forget about traffic and parkingtwo of the three things that make a day in Riccione complicated;
- Take the seaside cycle pathall the way to Misano Adriatico or Cattolica, as far as you like;
- Stop wherever you happen to beon the beach, at the harbour, at a café: lock the bike and get off.
No complicated components, no sporty features you’d have no use for. Just a bicycle that does what you ask of it.
The service
Ready to go from the start
You don’t need to know anything about bikes. We’ll give you the right Scott in the right size and suggest where to go.
-
Checked before it leaves
Brakes, tyres and chain checked every time. A bike that breaks down halfway along the seafront means a day ruined for a trifle.
-
The right size
You don’t have to guess it: tell us how tall you are and we’ll find it together at the counter in a minute.
-
Saddle at the right height
If the saddle is too low you work twice as hard; if it’s too high you can’t reach the ground. We set it before you leave.
-
We tell you where to go
Tell us how many hours you have and we’ll suggest what fits in: a ride along the seafront, the harbour, or the cycle path to Misano.
-
Book before you arrive
In summer and at weekends the city bikes are the first to go, because everyone wants them: write to us before you travel.
The lock and the GPS tracks of the routes are already included in the price. Helmets are available in the shop and booked separately.
An honest choice
Is a city bike right for you?
In Riccione it’s mostly chosen by families and tourists, but it isn’t right for everyone. We’d rather tell you upfront: if you have a different kind of ride in mind, we have the right bike and point you to it below.
It’s the right bike if…
- you’re a family and want to ride the cycle path together, all at the same pace;
- you’re on holiday and want a few relaxing hours, not a workout;
- you want to get around the centre, seafront and beach without a car or hunting for parking;
- you don’t think of yourself as a cyclist but still want a proper bike that works well;
- you want to sit upright in comfort, because performance doesn’t interest you;
- you fancy riding along the coast to Misano Adriatico or Cattolica.
Another bike may suit you better if…
- you want to head up into the hinterland and tackle the hills: for that you need an e-bike;
- you plan to mix tarmac and white roads: then go for a gravel bike;
- you’re after trails, woods and real dirt tracks: that’s mountain bike territory;
- you’re fit and want to keep a sporty pace: a road bike is a better choice.
Where to go
Three rides that start at the shop door
None of these rides in Riccione needs training or planning: you set off and come back whenever you feel like it.
-
01
Riccione seafront and cycle path
The easiest ride, the one to start with. You follow the sea, pass through the resort areas and stop whenever you like: a coffee, a stroll on the beach, then off again. If you want to go further, it’s the start of the Riviera cycle path.
- Easyeven if you rarely cycle
- Flatfrom start to finish
- As long as you likeyou come back when you decide
-
02
Towards Misano Adriatico and Cattolica
Following the coast south you reach Misano and, if you like, Cattolica. It’s almost entirely flat, with riding, stops by the sea and wanders through the towns. You don’t have to go all the way: you decide the distance as you go.
- Heading southalong the coast
- Flatalmost everywhere
- Your waystop wherever you like
-
03
Town centre, harbour and Viale Ceccarini
A bike is also handy just for getting around Riccione. Ride to the harbour, cross the centre, move between Viale Ceccarini, the seafront and the beach without relying on a car or looking for parking. It works well combined with shopping too.
- In townharbour, centre, beach
- Shorteven an hour is enough
- No parkinglock the bike and get off
If you have more time or stronger legs, the hinterland is just a stone’s throw away: the longer routes, however, call for a different bike.

Frequently asked questions about city bike rental
If you can’t find the answer you’re looking for, write to us: we reply the same day.
Ask your questionCan I rent the bike for just one day?
Yes, rentals start from one day, subject to availability. In summer and at the busiest times it’s worth booking: city bikes are the first to sell out.
Is it OK if I haven’t cycled for years?
That’s exactly who this bike is for. Upright position, high handlebar, stable handling and a low frame: you get on and off with your foot on the ground. There’s no getting used to it, and the routes we suggest are all flat.
Are a helmet and lock included?
The lock is, together with the GPS tracks of our suggested routes: they’re part of the rental. The helmet isn’t: we keep them in the shop in every size and you can add one to your rental as an extra, just ask when you book or when you collect the bike.
Can I ride as far as Misano, Cattolica or Rimini?
Yes, the coast to the south is flat and the city bike handles it with no trouble. You decide the distance: you can stop at Misano, carry on to Cattolica or turn back halfway, it makes no difference.
Do I need to book before I arrive?
Booking ahead online is always recommended. If you have any trouble, send us your dates, how many bikes you need and everyone’s height: we’ll confirm everything before you leave.
